Michael Bublé's Wife Says 'Thank God' for Son Noah's Cancer Recovery, Says Faith, Weekly Church Visits Sustained Her

Michael Bublé's wife has thanked God for miraculously healing their three-year-old son Noah from cancer and reflected on how her faith and weekly church visits sustained her throughout the ordeal.

In a recent TV interview, Luisana Lopilato revealed that initially, she was told by doctors in Argentina that Noah had mumps. Unconvinced, she flew her son to America to undergo further tests where he was diagnosed with cancer.

Nearly a year after announcing his diagnosis, Lopilato revealed the little boy is expected to make a full recovery.

"Thank God the worst is now over but this is a long and ongoing process," she said. "It's devastating for any parent to receive the news we did when Noah fell ill."

She said that at the time of Noah's diagnosis, she was unable to get ahold of her singer/songwriter husband to tell him the devastating news.

"Mike wasn't with me at the time," the 30-year-old model/actress said. "He was just about to do a very important interview in England and I couldn't get hold of him on the phone so the day I found out Noah had something in his stomach and the doctors didn't really know what it was and whether it might be a tumour, I got a flight to the States."

Upon finding out that his son had cancer, the singer cancelled the remainder of his tour and flew to join his family.

During this time, Lopilato relied on her faith in God, her family, and weekly visits to church to sustain her.

"It's difficult for me to speak about this, it's very recent and I'm still a bit sensitive about the subject," Lopilato said at a recent press conference in Buenos Aires, The Daily Express reported.

"My son's recovery is a long process as you all know and he has to continue with checkups. But we are very happy. We are looking forward to thinking about the future, to seeing our children grow."

"Thank God my son is well," she continued. "When things like those that happened to us occur, your take on life changes. Now I value life much more, the now and the today."

Noah is said to have been treated for liver cancer, although the actress and her husband have never confirmed what type of cancer he was diagnosed with.

In February, Bublé and Lopilato released their first official statement since breaking the news of Noah's diagnosis last November: "We are so grateful to report that our son Noah has been progressing well during his treatment and the doctors are very optimistic about the future for our little boy," the couple wrote. "He has been brave throughout and we continue to be inspired by his courage. We thank God for the strength he has given all of us. Our gratitude to his doctors and caretakers cannot be put into words."

They added: "We'd like to thank the thousands of people that have sent their prayers and good wishes to us. As we continue this journey we are greatly comforted by your support and love."

Lopilato also made a statement in April, confirming that Noah's cancer is in remission and the little boy is on the mend. She shared a picture of her two sons on Instagram earlier this month.

Meanwhile, Bublé, 41, last month accepted the National Arts Centre Award in Ottawa from the Governor General of Canada.

"I stand here truly humbled that I have been allowed to be one of your musical representatives and that you would choose to bestow this honor upon me during what has been an emotionally difficult time for my family," Bublé said during his speech, according to The Canadian Press. "I thank you for the love and support that you've given me and for the pride I'm filled with every single time I'm able to stand on a stage and say, 'My name is Michael Steven Bublé and I am Canadian.'"

To his wife and sons, he added, "There are no words to describe how I feel about you. Sometimes, 'I love you' just isn't enough because what I feel is just so much more."
