Sabine Kehm, the manager of Michael Schumacher, has come forward to explain why the updates regarding the retired Formula One racer's health has dwindled. According to her, it has something to do with his secret dream to escape the spotlight.

The last time the public received information about Schumacher's health was in February of this year, according to the Vine Report. At that time, former Ferrari team chief Luca di Montezemolo said that he was saddened after receiving bad news regarding the former racer.

Since then, there has been a media blackout regarding Schumacher's status. But, as explained by Kehm, the decision to withhold information regarding his present condition is to prevent spreading inaccurate details to the public.

"At the moment, I see no alternative...every sentence is a catalyst for new inquiries, every word is a beacon for further information," she told the Munich-based newspaper Sueddeutshce Zeitung. "It never dies down."

For instance, it was previously rumored that Schumacher is already on his way to fully recovering and is even walking around on his own feet.

Kehm refused to comment on the rumor and only said that the racer's recovery is a process that's constantly ongoing.

But aside from protecting Schumacher and his family from rumors and false information, another reason behind the confidentiality regarding his health may have something to do with the racer's desire to live in secret.

During an interview with the Huffington Post, Kehm said that before the accident, Schumacher has been hinting about disappearing from public view. The manager also said during the time when he was still a professional racecar driver; the media did little reporting regarding his and his family's private lives.

"Once in a long discussion Michael said to me: 'You don't need to call me for the next year, I'm disappearing," she told the news agency.

"I think it was his secret dream to be able to do that some day," Kehm added. "That's why now I still want to protect his wishes in that I don't let anything get out."

Schumacher got into a skiing accident in December of 2013, according to Latin Post. Despite wearing proper protective gear, the incident left him with a serious head injury. Because of this he was placed into a medically induced coma.

Since September of 2014, he has been in his home in Lake Geneva, Switzerland under the care of medical and health rehabilitation professionals.
