Microsoft recently revealed that it has been working on new content for "Minecraft: Console Edition" with the help of Mojang and 4J Studios. And, one of the mini games that players can expect to see is the Battle mode.
As detailed by Microsoft through Xbox Wire, Battle is a new game mode that allows multiple players to take on each other in different kinds of maps. According to the company, the offline version of the mode can support up to four players and their gameplay will be displayed through a split-screen format. On the other hand, players can also enjoy the mode through Xbox Live if there are five to eight of them.
But aside from these, players can also join communities through the in-game matchmaking system.
The ultimate goal of players in this mode is to remain as the last one standing, which is essentially a free for all death match.
Players can use a variety of strategies to outplay their opponents but they can also rely on the various items and resources that will be scattered in different areas of the map.
Of course, once their characters get killed, players can no longer participate in the death match. However, they can still linger on and watch the fight by hovering over the other living characters as bats.
The Battle mode will be released in June as a free update for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions of "Minecraft." This mini game will then be constantly updated by Microsoft through regular releases of add-ons such as maps. These add-ons are priced at $2.99 each.
The death match, or other forms of mini game, are not really new to the world of "Minecraft." Since its release, players have constantly shown their creativity by creating worlds of their own and new games with rules they created.
But, through Battle, players will no longer have to customize their gameplays since this mode comes with its own set of rules. The also will no longer have to spend hours just creating an environment for their personal mini games.
