Mortal Kombat X DLC Release Date, Cast, Characters Update: Will There be a Kombat Pack 2?

Mortal Kombat X
Expect a lot of DLC content.

Mortal Kombat is one gaming franchise that will live on to the next generation of video game consoles.  The release of Mortal Kombat X (MKX) gave fans something to fight about, and there has been a lot of downloadable content (DLC) that players can purchase to make the Kombat experience even better.  The release of Tremor has really given fans something else to like, but what could be the next Mortal Kombat X DLC Kombat Pack 2, this is what we know about the Release Date, Cast, and even more Characters updated.

According to the International Business Times, Warner Brothers as well as gaming developer NetherRealm Studios might be planning something big for Mortal Kombat DLC.  Considering that the company just released Tremor, a new character that was part of the last "Kombat Pack" DLC, there could easily be a "Kombat Pack 2".

So who could be in the Kombat Pack 2?  There are plenty of suggestions as Mortal Kombat has a history that spans at least ten games (hence the "X", the Roman numeral for ten, in the game's title), and not all of those characters are used on Mortal Kombat X.  Some of those characters include Rain and Noob, who could easily join the roster, as they are not in Mortal Kombat X.

There was a report from Comic Book that Todd McFarlane gave NetherRealm his "blessing" to include the popular comic book character Spawn in Mortal Kombat X.  Considering that Spawn exists outside the realm of the Mortal Kombat universe, what other characters could enter in?

Are characters like Shredder and Casey Jones from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles outside the realm of possibility?  I'm sure that was said about Freddy Krueger, Jason Vorhees, and Predator, but they are playable in Mortal Kombat.  What about the Xenomorph from the Alien movie franchise?  Seriously, the possibilities are as endless as the intellectual property owners are willing to give.

According to the Ecumenical News are a lot of Skin Packs available for players which include:

  • The Samurai Pack: Samurai Shinnok, Ronin Kenshi, and Jingu Kitana
  • The Ultimate Horror Pack: Vampiress Mileena, Kraken Reptile, and Pharaoh Ermac
  • The Klassic Pack #1: Klassic Sonya, Klassic Liu Kang, and Klassic Kano.
  • The Predator and Prey Pack: Infared Scorpion, Commando Johnny, and Carl Weathers as Dillon for Jax
  • The Klassic Pack #2: Klassic Jax, Klassic Kung Lao, and Klassic Quan Chi

Mortal Kombat first hit arcades back in 1992 as a fighting game that featured graphics that looked very realistic at the time.  The game then hit the consoles, and it became very controversial as it featured "Finishing Moves" that were extremely graphic, and the Mortal Kombat series aroused concerned parents groups that eventually led to today's Game rating system.

So if there is a Kombat Pack 2 for Mortal Kombat X, it could be quite something.  Players already like seeing more and more characters being brought on with entirely different skins and such, as well as the whole aspect of Fatalities being brought back.
