Mortal Kombat X DLC Release Date, Pack 2; Major Announcement Coming, Terminator, Aliens to Make Appearance

Something is brewing in NetherRealm and it involves the yet unreleased Kombat Pack 2 for Mortal Kombat X. Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon himself made the announcement in his latest tease about the popular gaming franchise.

Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon's latest tease on the yet unreleased Kombat Pack 2 for Mortal Kombat X, includes the appearance of Arnold Schwarzenegger's The Terminator.

Boon, co-creator and current creative director at NetherRealm Studios, wrote on his official Twitter account, ‏@noobde, "@therealsindel: @noobde I can feel an announcement coming !! EB: If you look around, the whole world's coming together now..."

Boon did not provide more details about this major announcement, but many insiders believe this has something to do with the upcoming Kombat Pack 2 DLC.

On Friday, Boon twitted that Arnold Schwarzenegger's The Terminator might make a special appearance in the upcoming DLC. He wrote, "@Desolater48 The Terminator wants to join our game ed boon @noobde  EB: That conversation DID happen! :)"

According to Game Rant, it makes perfect sense for The Terminator to make its official appearance in the ultra violent universe of Mortal Kombat X. "The Terminator would definitely have been right at home with the likes of other 80's film icons such as Jason Voorhees and Predator. It would've been especially interesting to see a Terminator version of Arnold Schwarzenegger battle it out with the Predator, considering Arnold played the lead role in the Predator movie as well," the report said.

And with NetherRealm expected to announce four new DLC characters in the coming months, the inclusion of time-traveling murder machine, The Terminator, is not far-fetched.

It was previously reported that the new Kombat Pack 2 would include new characters, such as Baraka, Rain, and Sindel. There is some validity to this speculation as all the three characters already have their own distinct move, however, they are not yet playable in the latest version of Mortal Kombat X. The speculation of the entry of the three characters because it coincide with Ed Boon's previous revelation of a Story Pack, which could also be included in the rumored Kombat Pack 2.

Also rumored to appear in the Kombat Pack 2 are Bo' Rai Cho, Fujin, and Kabal.

In another report, Day Herald said that two more characters might make their appearance in the Mortal Kombat X DLC. They are Sektor and Alien and cited Boon's tweets that give credence to the rumors.

Mortal Kombat X is currently available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. A last-gen version of the game for PS3 and Xbox 360 is also planned, and there's a mobile version of the game for iOS and Android devices as well.
