Moto X Pure Enters Android Nougat Soak Test Stage

Moto X Pure receives Android Nougat soak test
This is a sign that it is only a matter of time before Moto X Pure owners worldwide would be able to enjoy the goodness of Android 7.0 Nougat on their respective handsets. Motorola

When it comes to Android-powered smartphones, you would most probably realize by now that non-Google devices, such as the Moto X Pure from Motorola, would not receive the latest version of the Android mobile operating system. Rather, it would be a time of waiting, and for some, a long wait, should the most recent version of Android hit said device. Motorola’s Moto X Pure might be a couple of years old already, but thankfully, the smartphone has not fallen out of Motorola’s radar in such a manner that it would not be able to run the latest Android 7.0 Nougat version.

It seems that the Moto X Pure is right next to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update officially in due time, with soak test notifications already being sent out to owners of the handset. The Moto X Pure is actually the Moto X Style, and it has been released under the Moto X Pure moniker over in North America. Having been introduced to the market approximately one month before Android 6.0 Marshmallow was revealed, it did not take too long before the Moto X Pure picked up some Marshmallow goodness -- two months thereabouts, to be more exact.

That was then though, and it does not look as though Motorola is too hot and bothered about being right in front of the pack when it comes to offering the latest Android version to its range of devices these days, which is why Moto X Pure owners are still holding out with hope to pick up Android 7.0 Nougat. All of the waiting is not in vain, as Motorola has already sent out this particular message to select Moto X Pure owners over in the United States, which does point to an impending soak test -- and subsequently, a full Android 7.0 Nougat rollout for the Moto X Pure, of course.

Thanks for your interest in providing fast feedback about the upcoming software opportunity for the Moto X Pure. We rely on feedback from actual end-users to make the final determination about the readiness of our software.

If you decide to take part and if you qualify, you will receive software in advance of most owners. We would appreciate your quick feedback via a private community we will provide. We will also distribute one or more surveys to get your evaluation of the process and the software.

If this sounds good, please confirm that you wish to take part by completing this short registration form. (Although it is a few pages long it should take only a minute or two to complete.)

Thanks!

Soak tests are actually software updates which see a limited release, and the main line of thinking behind this is to limit any potential fallout or damage if the software update fails to work appropriately. If everything goes well, then a full blown rollout is set to happen. Since Motorola did confirm in the past that they are committed to introducing Android 7.0 Nougat for the Moto X Pure, then this soak test is in all probability, one that is gearing up for an Android 7.0 update.
