Point guard Rajon Rondo and the Chicago Bulls have reportedly reached an agreement for a two-year deal that's worth about $28 million. Obviously, Rondo will serve as the replacement for guard Derrick Rose, who the Bulls lost through a trade with the New York Knicks.

News about the deal was confirmed by The Undefeated. According to the site, Rondo is very happy with his decision to sign with the Bulls and is looking forward to play for the Chicago franchise.

"I'm excited," he told The Undefeated. "Great organization with pieces around me that I'm excited about."

The exact details of the deal is still unknown but it is believed that the second season of Rondo's contract with Chicago is already partially guaranteed.

The move to Chicago will very likely be a welcoming change for Rondo especially since he's coming from a very drama-filled season with the Sacramento Kings.

The 30-year-old NBA star was with Sacramento for the 2015-2016 season and although he performed well with the team, he was very vocal about the relationship within the franchise. According to the athlete, tension filled the locker rooms which significantly affected how the players behaved around one another.

"As far as locker room chemistry, it wasn't the best, and I've [been] around a couple of teams now," he told ESPN. "It doesn't have to be to where guys always like each other, but on the court we didn't sacrifice enough for one another to be successful."

Rondo noted that aside from the lack of team solidarity, there was also an unmistakable tension between DeMarcus Cousins coach George Karl and his staff. Although Rondo did not go into detail regarding the issues between these two parties, he noted that they were enough to affect the chemistry of the entire team.

He even tried to alleviate these problems by organizing various activities to allow his teammates to spend time with one another on and off the court.

Hopefully, the 2016-2017 season will serve as a fresh start for Rondo now that he's with the Bulls. As for the team, it looks like Chicago is on its way of building a strong roster through the addition of Rose and Rondo.
