The future of the Cleveland Cavaliers lineup appears to still be in the balance as the LeBron James-led group struggle to strike an acceptable deal between the NBA team and Tristan Thompson. With Kevin Love already back on board, it remains to be seen whether or not the hold of Thompson on the Cleveland Cavaliers has gotten stronger or weaker. Bearing in mind that it was only when Love incurred an injury during an NBA match against the Boston Celtics last season that Thompson's star started to shine, the Cleveland Cavaliers might no longer be too keen on signing the latter.

Earlier this month, LeBron James and Love were spotted hanging out in Los Angeles. The news of the NBA stars meeting up broke only two days after the Cleveland Cavaliers signed Love. The deal saw the NBA player taking home a $110 million contract which will span for five years with the Cleveland Cavaliers. According to LeBron James, Love wanted to discuss the future of the NBA team and how the Cleveland Cavaliers will go forward this season.

"He wanted to have a sit down with me and talk about everything," shared LeBron James, according to ESPN. The former Miami Heat star added, "He wanted to talk about the season, what could happen with the team going forward. I was absolutely open to it. I was one of the people that wanted him there when we made the trade last summer. The fact that he committed to us let me know the type of guy we have."

For his part, Love took his time to determine his options with regard the impact of re-signing with the Cleveland Cavaliers to his NBA career. The NBA star admitted that the discussion with LeBron James was his way of making sure that he and the Cleveland Cavaliers leader are on the same page. Sharing some details in connection with their conversation, Love said that the talk with LeBron James had been "very honest" and that they "agreed of a lot of things." Love also disclosed that he felt valued by the Cleveland Cavaliers because LeBron James, whom the former described as "the best players in the world," took the time to work things out with him. As for the opinion of LeBron James on Love's NBA potential, the Cleveland Cavaliers lead star shared his prediction: Love will be an All-Star this NBA season.

Meanwhile, SB Nation reports that LeBron James now focuses on helping the Cleveland Cavaliers in re-signing Thompson for the upcoming NBA season. Stating that the presence of Thompson in the Cleveland Cavaliers roster will make the NBA team "more dangerous" this season, LeBron James insists that the "number one objective right now is to sign Tristan." Although LeBron James admits that the contract between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Thompson still "need to be worked out," the NBA star asserts that the team needs the latter back. At the moment, however, both Thompson and the Cleveland Cavaliers have reached a stalemate.

As for the latest addition in the training camp roster of the Cleveland Cavaliers, NBC Sports reports that Jared Cunningham has been signed by the NBA team. While the deal provides a non-guaranteed spot in the Cleveland Cavaliers roster, Cunningham will have the chance to prove himself worthy of earning the spot. The challenge will not be easy though as the NBA team has a number of guards this season including James Jones, Mo Williams, Kyrie Irving and Iman Shumpert.
