LeBron James certainly has a good future in front of him, especially since he has just signed a three-year contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers that's worth $100 million. But, looking further into the future, James revealed that he wants to be an owner of an NBA team someday.

Right now, James is regarded as the hero of Cleveland after leading the Cavs to a major victory at the 2016 NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors. And, given his new contract, it seems James still has a few years ahead of him before retiring from the league.

However, this does not mean that James is not already thinking about his future. During an interview with the Open Run podcast, the athlete said that he's looking forward to owning an NBA team.

For him, doing so will allow him to share his knowledge about basketball to an entire organization.

"I feel like my brain as far as the game of basketball is unique and I would love to continue to give my knowledge to the game," he said. "And I would love to be a part of a franchise, if not at the top."

"My dream is to actually own a team and I don't need to have fully hands on," he added. "If I'm fortunate enough to own a team, then I'm going to hire the best [general manager] and president that I can."

Of course, owning an NBA team is not that easy since it can usually cost billions of dollars. But, as Fan Sided pointed out, James is already on his way to accomplishing his dream due to his financial situation.

Aside from the millions that he makes as a player, he also has a Nike lifetime contract that's worth over a billion dollars. So, if he continues playing the way he does and remains mindful of his money, then there's a big chance that James would become an NBA team owner in the future.

According to the athlete, one of the talents that he can bring as a team owner is his eye for finding the proper characteristics of a good player, Sports Illustrated reported.

"I have a good eye for not only talent, because we all see a lot of talent, but the things that make the talent, the chemistry, what type of guy he is, his work ethic, his passion, the basketball IQ side of things, because talent only goes so far," he said.
