The Cleveland Browns are having a very rough start at the 2016 NFL season after the team was forced to turn to rookie quarterback Cody Kessler due to the injuries of Robert Griffin III and Josh McCown. With its current status, the best option for the team now would be to get a new veteran quarterback from the free agency pool.

Griffin was placed on injured reserve during Week 1 after injuring his shoulder following the Browns' loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. This led the team to turn to McCown for Week 2 against the Baltimore Ravens. However, after the match, the Browns confirmed that McCown has also suffered a shoulder injury.

With its No. 1 and No. 2 quarterbacks out, the team currently has no choice but to start with Kessler, an untested quarterback who was signed by the Browns following this year's draft picks.

This, of course, is a huge risk for the Cleveland organization because aside from the fact that it will be entering Week 3 with rookie passer, the team does not have emergency quarterbacks.

According to NFL insiders, Browns coach Hue Jackson aims to solve this by getting a new quarterback for the team. It is not yet clear who he wants to sign but according to rumors, Jackson will be going for a veteran QB.

One of the athlete that the coach could consider is Michael Vick. Currently a free agent, Vick used to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers. During his last season with the team he was only able to complete 60.6 percent of his passes.

Although he is certainly not as effective as he was before, he is still an experienced athlete who is capable of reading plays and making quick decisions on the field. Plus, Vick has a star-factor that can provide excitement for both the team and the fans.

If the Browns go after Vick, they'll probably only keep him around for maybe a year since he's already 36 years old. For Cleveland, that won't be a problem since it will give McCown and Griffin enough time to fully recover and bounce back to their quarterback duties.
