A day after Patrick Lewis was waived by the Seattle Seahawks, he was picked up by the Buffalo Bills. Replacing the center's starting position for the Seahawks is Justin Britt.

As confirmed by NBC Sports, the Seahawks decided to release Lewis earlier this week as the team went through its training camp. Lewis is the latest former member of the Seattle organization waived by the team. As of today, the team's roster is now only down to 75 players.

Lewis' departure means his starting position will go to Britt, his former backup. Britt's previous will then go to rookie player Joey Hunt. Aside from Hunt, there's also a chance that the Seahawks will utilize Will Pericak as a backup center. As noted by Russell Wilson, the team's quarterback, Pericak has been improving especially during the NFL preseason.

"He's playing great football, big minutes and he's always rode up to the occasion," Wilson said according to Seattle Times. "He's doing that so far and our line looks really good right now."

"They're stout as can be, strong, quick guys, smart and intelligent," he added.

Almost immediately after Lewis was waived by the Seattle franchise, he was picked up by the Buffalo Bills. As noted by Buffalo Rumblings, analyst Josh Baldwin noted that prior to claiming Lewis, the Bulls were in need of another center.

According to Baldwin, the bench of the Bills' center position lacked depth and through Lewis, the team will be able to provide an effective and reliable backup to Eric Wood. However, it is not yet clear if Lewis will be the main backup to the starter or if he will still have to compete with Fernando Velasco.

Lewis has been in the NFL since 2013 after he was signed by the Green Bay Packers. However, he didn't last very long with the team since he was cut in August of the same year.

The following month, he was picked up by the Cleveland Browns. He was waived again in November but was then re-signed by the team a few days later.

He was signed by the Jaguars in December of that year. But after he was released, he was signed by the Seahawks in August of 2014. With the Seattle franchise, he received more playing time due to the injury suffered by Max Unger.
