Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel caused quite a stir last weekend but not because another complaint was filed against him. Instead, sources noted that on May 28, the controversial athlete went missing.

According to Hollywood Life, Manziel was supposed to go on a schedule helicopter ride last Saturday from Manhattan to the Hamptons. He was reportedly supposed to host a party for his friends and family.

However, Manziel never showed up for the helicopter trip and didn't answer his phone. The incident doesn't seem too alarming since the athlete may have just forgotten that he booked a trip or left his phone somewhere.

But, the fact that he got into a bit of an altercation the night before got his friends worried about his safety. As reported by the New York Post, Manziel got into a car accident last month in Los Angeles. He also refused to coordinate with the owner of the rental car, Wayne Schneider, or pay the damages on the vehicle, which amounts to about $90,000.

But, when Schneider heard that Manziel was in New York last week, he decided to pay him a little visit. In a video shot by TMZ Sports, Manziel can be seen leaving in his black SUV but as his vehicle was just about to pull away, Schneider, along with a couple of other cars, blocked its way.

The rental car owner then walked towards the SUV to confront Manziel but the athlete refused to step out of the vehicle. According to Schneider, despite the face-to-face confrontation, Manziel still refused to pay the damages to the wrecked rental car.

"He's not paying for nothing," he told TMZ. "He's been dodging for a month-and-a-half."

This incident, coupled with the events last Saturday, caused friends of Manziel to think that he may have gotten into a dangerous situation. Fortunately though, Manziel turned up on Sunday and was spotted partying at a New York City nightclub.

This was confirmed when Instagram user Anthony Shnayderman posted a short video of him together with Manziel inside the club. The clip even showed the NFL free agent smiling at the camera.
