The Houston Texans has confirmed that it has released quarterback Bryan Hoyer from its roster. Although representatives from the Texans did not mention anything else regarding his departure, it may have something to do with Brock Osweiler joining the team.

The Texans made the announcement earlier this week through its Twitter account. According to the team, aside from releasing Hoyer, it also decided to waive quarterback B.J. Daniels from its active roster.

The move regarding Hoyer's release comes a month after the Texans signed Brock Osweiler, the former backup QB for the Denver Broncos. During his time with the Super Bowl champion, he served as backup for Peyton Manning.

But, last season, he was moved up to starter position after Manning was benched. However, in a rather surprising move, both Manning and Osweiler decided to leave the Broncos after winning the Super Bowl. The former officially retired while the latter accepted the Texans' four-year contract worth $72 million.

Now that the Broncos has been left without a quarterback and Hoyer is currently looking for a new home, new rumors suggest that these two parties could end up working on a deal. Although the Denver team has already managed to sign a quarterback in the form of Mark Sanchez, it probably wouldn't rely on him as its main starter.

In other words, they still need a veteran who could lead the team on the field and onto a path leading to another possible Super Bowl win. This is where Hoyer could come in, an athlete who has been in the league since 2009 and has experienced playing for various teams including the Arizona Cardinals, Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers.

But then again, the Broncos might hold back in giving Hoyer an offer primary due to a questionable game with the Texans last season. In that match, the Houston team lost to Kansas City and was not able to make any points.

Of course, Denver is not the only team out there that's looking to secure a quarterback. The New York Jets too is also having issues in this area after failing to come to terms in a contract negotiation with Ryan Fitzpatrick. And, since Hoyer is scheduled to visit the Jets this week according to Bleacher Report, he could end up being the team's new quarterback.
