Antrel Rolle is not happy with the Chicago Bears' decision to release him from the team. But, now that he's a free agent, he's hoping that he'll get the chance to return to the New York Giants.

Rolle joined the Bears in 2015 and only played a total of seven games last season due to his injuries. One of the injuries he suffered was in December during a non-contact practice with the team.

"The surfaces in the Chicago facilities are the worst I've ever been around, I'm just gonna be honest with you," he told the New York Post. "I slipped on the surface, I wasn't even running, I was just kind of shuffling and slipped."

After the slip, Rolle entered a rehabilitation facility in January of this year and according to him, he is not in 100 percent shape to play football next season.

Although other teams might also be looking to secure the safety for their own rosters, Rolle said that he would prefer to play with the Giants, where he played for five seasons before joining the Bears.

"You know my first choice would be home, man," he said. "And what I mean by home, that's New York. That's a franchise that I love. There's a difference in playing for a franchise because that's where your contract it, that's where you're supposed to play, it's just where I want to bring my assets, where I want to help the franchise, the city, the players."

"It's family for me," he added. "That's where I would want to reside and just go out there and play ball."

The Giants, however, has not yet issued a statement regarding Rolle's desire to return to New York. However, as noted by ESPN, the team might think twice about working with Rolle again. After all, the team's bench for safeties is pretty deep with Landon Collins, Bennet Jackson, Nat Berche, Mykkele Thompson and Darian Thompson.

And, since the team is probably looking to keep its safeties in the long run, it might opt to stick with these younger players instead of Rolle. This can also be a safe move for New York since Rolle's injuries could emerge again in the future.
