Earlier this week, a new rumor emerged stating that the San Francisco 49ers is looking to trade Anthony Davis and Antoine Bethea. But then, Davis himself took to Twitter to clarify the reports.

For a couple of months now, rumors have been pouring in about who will get drafted and traded. Although it would seem that all NFL teams are getting ample coverage in this subjects, probably the one that's getting the most attention is the San Francisco 49ers and its quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

However, this week is a bit different since the rumors centered on other players on the team. These came out immediately after Peter King posted his latest column on MMQB.

Buried deep within the article, beneath details of Will Smith's murder and predictions for the draft picks, King wrote that someone said that the 49ers is planning on trading Davis and Bethea. Apparently, according to his sources, the team's general manager Trent Baalke doesn't want to give up his draft picks which is why he would rather resort to trading away these two athletes.

The rumors, however, did not go into detail regarding the potential terms and inclusions in the trade or which team the 49ers is planning on conducting its business with.

However, within a day after the rumors emerged, Davis took to his Twitter account to clarify that these are not true. According to the veteran right tackle, there are no plans within the 49ers to trade him to another team.

He addition, he also spoke to Baalke regarding the rumors and the latter immediately said that these were false.

"Trent text[ed] me this morning clarifying a 'report that surfaced' saying that the trade accusations are' False Reporting,'" he tweeted.

However, even though Davis and Baalke confirmed that the rumors are not true, this doesn't automatically mean that he will be playing for the 49ers next season. Sports fans might remember that in 2015, Davis announced that he will take a break from the rest of the season to get some well-deserved rest.

Although he has already applied for reinstatement for the 2016 season, the decision to put him back on the roster will solely depend on the 49ers, which will first review if it is wo0rth giving back Davis the amount he paid back for the portion of his signing bonus before his hiatus, NBC Sports reported.
