Iranian-American Pastor Saeed Abedini has made claims that President-elect Donald Trump is a modern-day Cyrus. Posting his sentiments on his Facebook page, he has sparked an on-going discussion in the social media community, with many now questioning the integrity of his statements.

Saeed Abedini is quoted into saying:

"What I believe about Donald Trump is that he will be the best President of United States of America ever, even better than Ronald Reagan... Mr. Trump will take the whole world NOT just America to the new level that the world never has seen before."

Although Abedini has been mum about his support for Trump throughout the campaign, it is clear that Trump has been and will always be his president.

He is recognized worldwide as a charismatic and resilient leader, having endured eight years in prison for spreading Christianity in a Muslim country. Converting to Christianity is considered a capital offense under the Islamist Sharia Law, but this he did when he was 20 years old.

Abedini is the Exclusive Director of Idaho-based Saeed Ministries, Inc., a "non-profit, non-denominational Christian Ministry" that is aimed at "awakening Christians, standing with Israel, reaching Muslims, and preaching the whole gospel to the whole world." He is originally from Iran and has immigrated to the U.S. in recent years.

His stand is a surprise for many netizens, given that Trump is popular for his anti-immigration sentiments, a rhetoric that is said to be put into policy and practice once he is in office.

Pastor Abedini continues:

"I have never met President-Elect Trump or even talked to him on the phone, but I feel this amazing feeling about him so strongly since the time Lord revealed to me he is the modern-day Cyrus of Persia."

This big claim has raised an uproar on Facebook, with one saying, "He is not God's anointed... Please stop making him an idol." Another says, "No man is our Savior. Only the gospel of Jesus Christ can rescue our nation!"

While some found the claim disturbing, others side with Abedini's statement: "Amen, Amen!" one netizen says. Another writes, "I stand with you in agreement to this. I feel it too."

Cyrus of Persia, also called Cyrus the Great, is considered the father of ancient Persians (modern-day Iran). He is best known as the liberator of the Jews held captive in Babylonia. Abedini has likened Trump with Cyrus of Persia as the "liberator" of America.
