If you've been playing Sony's "Bloodborne" since its release in March this year, then you'll be excited to download "The Old Hunters" expansion pack just released on November 24.

This RPG by FromSoftware has a lot of bloody action amidst a gothic and highly detailed backdrop. If you get the "The Old Hunters" DLC (retails at $19.99) for PlayStation 4, you'll have a deeper insight into the hunters' history. The DLC trailer boasts that users will "uncover the mystery behind Yharnam's sinister past and "explore brand new stages full of dangers, rewards, and deadly beasts."

But to access the new content, you have to use the latest 1.07 patch and fight your way into this dark and dreadful medieval world. Playstation's Blog will reveal everything you need to conquer the dark matter and update your arsenal.

Follow these steps carefully:

  • After downloading the DLC, strive to defeat the head of the Cathedral Ward.
    Then you can check the altar at the back of the room to turn the in-game time to night;
    Go to the Hunter's Dream and obtain the Eye of a Blood-drunk Hunter from a messenger;
    Enter the square. To do this, go to the Oedon Chapel and get through the left-hand exit;
    Go to the right-hand end of the square to enter the Hunter's Nightmare;
    Finally, don't forget to light the lamp in the new area so that you can come and go as you please from this place by using an Awakening Headstone in the Hunter's Dream.

The Bloodborne Wiki likewise provides some very useful patch notes:

Join the New Covenant: The League (the confederate covenant of hunters) by meet meeting Valtr. Go to the Forbidden Woods, and unclock the hut next to the first lamp to get a shortcut. Want to participate in the ranking system? You ought to use the covenant rune Impurity during a co-op and succeed in your task. The award is a Vermin item that will allow you to get into ranking.

You can also summon new Old Hunters into the game, but first you should have the Elder Summoning Bell at the Hunter's Dream. If you ring it, you will summon the Old Hunters at specific markers. While using the Elder Summoning Bell, you get to have only two NPC phantoms maximum. But with another co-op player in your world, you can only summon one NPC helper.
