All PlayStation Plus subscribers look forward to what free games will be available for the PS3, PS4, and PS Vita, and the wait for the month of December 2015 is over. In addition to all these free games available for the month of December, the month of November has a lot of terrific Black Friday deals.
That PlayStation blog has announced the free games for the PS4, PS3, and PS Vita:
For the PS4, PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to take on Gauntlet: Slayer Edition. The game is another offering from the top-down, hack and slash dungeon crawling series that is as old as the eighties. The Gauntlet game was recently given a reboot back in 2014, and the Slayer Edition is a free update for the PC version and a standalone $20 release on the PlayStation 4, according to IGN.
Also coming to the PS4 is another title that has its origins steeped in the eighties. This would be the first chapter of the new "re-imagining" of the King's Quest series with Chapter 1: A Knight to Remember. The original King's Quest was a Sierra Games franchise where players would point and click to solve puzzles and go on a fantasy adventure, and this new version takes some elements from the old.
Available for the PS3 is Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. The Steam Store describes this game as "an 80's version of the future". It takes place in the distance world of 2007,as the player is Sargent Rex Colt, a Mark IV Cyber Commando with a mission to "get the girl, kill the baddies, and save the world".
PS3 users can also have access to SSX, a 2012 game that is about Snowboarding, even though Snowboarding is only partially in its title. (SSX stand for Snowboarding, Surfing, and MotoCross) The story concerns Team SSX as they plan to conquer the nine deadliest descents across the world that includes the Himalayas and Antarctica.
For the PlayStation Vita, users can access Freedom Wars, a Japanese action role-playing game. This is set in the distant future in the year 102014, where the Earth can no longer support life. Humans have to live in underground cities known as Panopticons, and the player has to figure out how to make their Panopitcon thrive in this wasteland.
The last free game available for the PS Vita is Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken. The Steam Store describes this game as "annihilate an evil penguin regime in this cinematic platform adventure game offering full solo and co-op campaigns". The visual style looks like Angry Birds, but the game has a serious cold war and World War II influence.
In addition to the savings on free games, PlayStation is also holding a Black Friday Sale with savings on AAA games like Call of Duty, Black Ops III, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Destiny: The Taken King Legendary Edition, and even movies like Furious 7. These deals will run until November 30th, and there is a 10 percent Storewide coupon that can be combined with all PS Store sales and offers throughout their promotion windows.
