There has been a lot of news about Pokémon since the company launched a million dollar inspirational Super Bowl ad a few weeks ago. Fans are particularly looking forward to Pokémon Z, the long-awaited follow-up to Pokémon X and Y, as well as the location based app for iOS and Android with Pokémon GO. It has been recently discovered that another Pokémon game is on the way with Pokémon Rainbow (or Niji) has been added to the mix.
Yibada has stated that perhaps Pokémon Z will actually be called Pokémon Rainbow. It is possible that Pokémon Rainbow is a game in addition to Pokémon Z and Pokémon GO, but there are reports from a marketing employee of Nintendo of America claiming that a celebratory anniversary game is slated for launch this year with that name.
Actually, the game is titled Pokémon Niji, and it is a codenamed project for the 3DS. "Niji" translates to Rainbow in English, and considering that a lot of past Pokémon games have had colors in their titles, it just makes sense to have an anniversary game that celebrates all kinds of Pokémon with a title that represents all of the colors.
So it is possible that Pokémon Z is Pokémon Rainbow. This kind of disproves a theory that we previously reported suggesting that Pokémon Z and Pokémon GO are the same game. The issue is that Pokémon Z has not been formally announced, but Nintendo does have a listing for Pokémon Rainbow.
Pokémon Rainbow is a title that has been rumored to come out for a while. The game will come with a Wii U application, and it plans to feature most of the old and new Pokémon.
Speaking of old and new Pokémon, fans are very anxious to play Pokémon GO, which will allow the player to wander around in real-life location searching for the many hundreds of Pokémon that exist. When will this game come out? Well, it probably won't be until after March 18. Why that particular date? Well, the Pokémon GO development studio Niantic is planning to show off the game at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2016, which is going to happen on March 14 to March 18, according to the Lawyer Herald.
So the game should be out sometime after GDC 2016, and it will probably be released first in Japan, Europe, and then North America, quite possibly all at the same time. Fans certainly want that, as Japan is usually the first to receive a Pokémon game. It should then be released in South America, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
It actually makes sense for Pokémon to release Pokémon GO in stages all around the world, as the game is about finding Pokémon in certain locations. It would be a smart move for Pokémon and Niantic to scout the world looking for proper locations. However, Niantic is the creators of the popular location-based game Ingress, so they probably know what they are doing for finding the best spots for Pokémon to dwell.
