Kam Chancellor recently hinted that even though he enjoys playing for the Seattle Seahawks, he could still end up with another team depending on certain circumstances. The strong safety made the statement days after general manager John Schneider confirmed that Chancellor is still a Seahawks player.

Chancellor has been with the Seattle franchise since 2010. In his entire NFL career, he is credited for amassing a total of 472 tackles, 2 quarterback sacks, 10 interceptions and 34 passes defended. He is one of the highly regarded players in the NFL due to his play-making skills and impressive hit power.

Although the athlete seems to be melding well with his current team, it seems there's a bit of friction between Chancellor and the Seahawks. As The Blow noted, Chancellor is not 100 percent sure about his decision to stay with the team.

"Seattle is my second home," he said according to the site. "I don't plan on going anywhere unless some higher power places me elsewhere."

The "higher power" that Chancellor was talking about could be the executives in the league. According to The Blow, it seems the athlete is demanding the Seahawks execs to increase his salary. Apparently, he is not too happy with the $28 million contract he signed with the team in 2008.

However, since the team is reportedly refusing to negotiate Chancellor's contract, there's a chance that the athlete could sign with a new franchise if the offer is good enough.

But, despite the rumors surrounding Chancellor's status with the team, Seattle executives maintained that he is still part of the Seahawks.

Recently, GM Schneider confirmed that Chancellor, along with other core Seahawks players such as Michael Bennet and Garry Gillian, will remain on the team's roster for the 2016 season, according to Seattle Times.

"Yeah, he's a Seahawk, yeah, absolutely," Schneider. "Kam is an extremely prideful, spiritual person and there are a lot of family things that stay in-house, so that's one of them. I can't speak more highly of a guy."

Head coach Pete Carroll noted that Chancellor and the rest of the Seahawks team are aware of the higher-ups' decisions especially when it comes to the roster, Bellingham Herald reported.

"We have a lot of stuff that we're dealing with in putting our roster together," he said. "Those guys know that. We've been in contact with these guys throughout so they know what's going on."

"And we're going to do everything we can to keep them with us for as long as they'll play football," he added.
