Josh McDowell’s ministry is providing year-long daily devotions free of charge as a tool to help families begin the school year with a focus on the Lord.

Despite having formerly considered himself an agnostic, Christian author and speaker Josh McDowell was radically changed when he examined Christianity’s claims as a young adult and found them to be reliable. Since coming to Christ, McDowell has written numerous books and has encouraged believers around the world to “stand strong and firm in their faith in the face of a rapidly-changing culture.” He founded Josh McDowell Ministry, which hopes to “multiply disciples until the whole world knows that the Christian faith is reliable, relational and relevant to their lives.”

The ministry’s website offers both youth and family devotionals, with topics ranging from the Good News and the truth of Scripture to learning how to find love and acceptance from God. The family devotions begin with a passage of Scripture, walk a family through a real-life scenario, and provide discussion questions, prayer points, and action steps based on the passage. The youth devotions are structured similarly, with reflection and prayer sections at the end. There is a devotion written for each day of the year.
