Syria Update: Mosul Surrounded as Christian Prayers for Peace Continue

Christian prayers are starting to resound all over the world into what could be a path to victory in the Middle East as Iraqi- led liberation forces are starting to clamp down on ISIS- occupied Mosul.

According to CNN, an Iraqi- led coalition of military and paramilitary forces have already surrounded the beleaguered city which fell under Islamic State control a couple of years ago. This current development will surely cause problems among the ISIS militants who are in control as their crucial resources and logistics are cut-off as their primary travel and supply networks are already taken over by the liberation forces.

The coalition force also reports that they have strategically cut-off main supply routes that link Raqqa in Syria - the ISIS stronghold- to prevent jihadis from transporting critical supplies and reinforcements into Mosul. However, security experts agree that this may not yet be a sure sign of victory against ISIS in forcing them out of Mosul.

Another setback for the terrorist group is the reported death of ISIS propagandist Ziyad Kharufa.  According to Iraq's Joint Operations Command, Kharufa was killed in an airstrike Tuesday in Nineveh, the capital of Mosul.

Kharufa is believed to be the chief propagandist for ISIS and is responsible for all the online propaganda material for the terrorist group.

Christians all over the world are seeing this as a sign of answered prayers, which gone on an international scale to promote peace in the Middle East. Prayer is starting to deal a hand in the battle against terrorist forces that are starting to crumble.

According to CBN News, Christians who have been recently freed from other war-torn territories that were besieged by the ISIS terrorist group gathered to initiate prayer and thanksgiving activities to worship and call for peace in the Middle East, as well as neutralize ISIS control of occupied territories.

Coalition forces, according to the report, are also going down on their knees to pray for support to stop the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Many organizations are also helping out in their own way, by extending support to the children, women, elderly and physically - disabled victims of the war.

"The original idea of this event is to bring Christians together to pray for their land, because their land has been taken by ISIS and we believe that this land needs to be cleansed.  And we believe as we pray for this land, people will go back we believe for a new spirit, for a new situation," adds Mahar Barbary of Life Agape.
