Tesla Motors Inc. is scrambling to finish the development of its massive factory in Sparks, Nevada. Tesla CEO Elon Musk says this "gigafactory" will ramp up the production of the much-anticipated Model 3 sedan.

Wall Street Journal published Tesla has doubled the number of workers building the factory, which measures more than 3,000 acres. It is also reported that roughly 1,000 workers build seven days a week on two shifts in an effort to release Model 3 ahead of time.

Tesla opened reservations for Model 3 electric car on March. It takes around $1,440 to pre-order the car. Currently, there are more than 400,000 orders. Interested buyers should visit this link for more information about Model 3 reservation. However, those who placed an order from this point on would likely get their Model 3 in early 2019.

Due to its strong demand, Musk estimates there would be 500,000 reservations by the end of 2018. The full price of the Model 3 has not yet disclosed, but estimates show it might become available for around $35,000.

As for the Model 3's features, it might have a solar-powered roof. Musk recently revealed his plan to merge Tesla's battery business with SolarCity Corp.'s solar panels. Musk is the chairman and the largest shareholder of both companies.

Outside, the Model 3 is expected to have minimalist yet elegant design. During the car's debut earlier this year, Musk proudly presented its compact form and aerodynamic design.

Inside, its cabin must be roomy and comfy. Instead of the integrated tablet present on the Model S, the Model 3 is said to have a floating screen without a physical gauge cluster. In addition, rumors around the internet claim Model 3's high-tech head-up display will present battery charge, speed and navigation status to the driver.

Digital Trends reported Model 3 would have a base range of 215 miles in a single charge. That range could go up to 250 miles in larger battery versions. The electric car is reportedly powered with advanced lithium ion batteries and all-electric powertrain.

The specs and features of Model 3 mentioned above are not yet final. Tesla is still finishing the car's exterior and interior styling.

In 2015, Tesla produced 11,160 cars, averaging more than 1,000 per week. Can the company do that again for Model 3? Let's wait and see.
