Now that we are edging closer and closer to the end of November and the beginning of December is starting to rear its head, you can be sure that plenty of preparation is being made in order to ensure that everything will be perfect for Thanksgiving, from the gifts that you would hand out to family and friends, to the kind of home settings and decoration. Well, Black Friday is also in the thick of it, offering its fair share of deals and deep discounts that one would normally only dream to see.

Well, rather than taking a gamble and rely on your memory or simply forgetting that major holidays tend to result in different operating for various stores, how about letting us do all of the legwork and present to you the operating times for the likes of Macy's, Sears, Walmart, Toys R Us, Best Buy, and Target? After all, you do not want to end up showing disappointment on your face when you walk along happily from the parking lot (that is strangely empty and devoid of the usual lack of parking space) only to be greeted by a “Closed” sign at the front doors.

With some stores being closed on Thanksgiving day itself, the major retailers will kick start their Black Friday sales on Thanksgiving evening itself. Without much further ado, here are the details on the individual stores’ operating hours for this Thanksgiving and Black Friday. It pays to be prepared, and who knows? You might be lucky enough to snag that hot deal that you have been waiting for simply by being the proverbial early bird.

Macy's operating hours
Thanksgiving: 5pm to 2am Friday
Black Friday: 6am to 10pm (some locations will remain open overnight)

Toys ‘R’ Us operating hours

Black Friday: Closes at 11pm

Best Buy operating hours

Black Friday 8am to 10pm (some locations may vary)

Target operating hours

Do take note that there will be exceptions to the rule as mentioned in brackets above for certain establishments, so if you are in doubt, you can either head on to their website to check things out, or better yet -- call the local retailer where you would want to pay a visit on either one or both of the days for confirmation. It would be good to note that whenever a shop or store opens on Thanksgiving, there is a possibility that it might remain open all the way straight through until closing on Black Friday, which means that there is no need for any closing time on Black Friday itself, such as in the case of Toys ‘R’ Us. Not only that, some stores might actually remain open through the night all the way into Black Friday, but have not mentioned their closing times.
