James Spader, the star of the crime drama series "The Blacklist," gave a few hints regarding what viewers can expect once the show returns to its third season this month. According to the actor, the last remaining episodes of the show will be "crazy."
Since February 25, "The Blacklist" has been on a short break. It skipped the entire month of March but is scheduled to return with its 17th episode on April 7.
Recently, Spader appeared on "The Tonight Show" to briefly talk about the return of the series with talk show host Jimmy Fallon. The actor, however, did not go into detail regarding what viewers will get to see in the upcoming episodes, but he noted that these should not be missed, according to the International Business Times.
"I must say, anybody who has ever had any interest, even in the smallest degree, in the show, even if one saw the pilot and sort of abandoned it from that point, if anyone has ever had any passing interest in the show, boy, [episodes] 17 and 18 are so crazy," he said.
Aside from teasing about the show, Spader also previewed a clip from the upcoming episode 17. The short video doesn't contain any spoilers and only focus on his character Raymond "Red" Reddington as he tries to convince Elizabeth Keen to leave her husband Tom, who was previously revealed as a covert operative.
As for other updates about the show, The Hollywood Reporter previously confirmed that television network NBC has given the greenlight for a spinoff series of "The Blacklist." The new show will star Famke Janssen and her character Susan Scottie Halstead will be introduced in "The Blacklist" through its episode on May 5. The follow-up episode, which will air on May 12, will then serve as the backdoor pilot for the spinoff.
Joining Janssen in the new show is Ryan Eggold, who plays Tom Keen, and possibly Edi Gathegi, who portrays Cabal operative Matias Solomon in the series. Another star attached to the show is Tawny Cypress. According to Deadline, since she will be a newcomer, her character will also be introduced in future episodes of "The Blacklist."
