No doubt fans are excited about the upcoming sequel, and some of them are talking about the new villain. Realty Today reported that the latest villain, Unicron, is the giant transformer that will bring chaos to the Transformers' universe, and has an ability to consume planets during his galactic travels.

There will be humans in the story of the upcoming sequel. The head of the franchise's new writer's room and, Akiva Goldsman, announced they will keep humans in the story. During the interview with Max Nicholson of IGN Movies with Goldsman, the writer explained why they keep humans in the next franchise, and why human is necessary to Transformers franchise. Goldsman said "Yes."

"Fundamentally, there seems to be something really great about the interaction between the two species," Goldsman said.

In 2014, Michael Bay was headlined for months as his two movies, The Purge: Anarchy, where he's one of the producers, and Transformers: Age Extinction was successful at the box office. The social science fiction action horror film, "The Purge: Anarchy" garnered $110.6 million, while his last Transformers franchise offering got $1.104 billion.

In the previous interview with USA Today with Bay, the director admitted he got a lot of ideas for the upcoming sequel. "There is some kind of fresh chapter, a latest direction in films that I want to create. I have so many stories to share and it is about doubling up new muscles," Bay said.

Apart from successful movies mentioned earlier, Bay's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, starring by Meagan Fox, had also experienced success at the box office with $485 million in 2014. His horror film Ouija got $102.5 million, which was also released in 2014, and the found footage science fiction thriller film Project Almanac, which was released last January 30, 2015, got $32.2 million at the box office.

Due to a series of victories at the box office, the Bad Boys director, Ted actor, Mark Wahlberg, believed that Bay will still direct the Transformers 5. On June 12, 2015, Collider asked Wahlberg if he thinks Bay will handle the fifth sequel, the actor said "Yes."

Wahlberg appeared on Transformers: Age Of Extinction, and he played the lead role of Cade Yeager, a single father and inventor. He will come back in the next sequel and reprise his role.
