Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
Naughty Dog releases new expansion pack for Uncharted 4 Naughty Dog

Those that are fans of the Uncharted video game series follow the saga of the modern day treasure hunter Nathan Drake and his adventures.  For those who are looking forward to Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, you will have to wait longer than its initial release date as the game is not set to be released until 2016.  A recent news update shows that this game could be released around the same time as an Uncharted movie.

According to KPopStarz, it would appear that Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is going to be delayed, and set to arrive in 2016.  The director of the game, Bruce Straley, has explained the reason for the delay, saying: "Giving us a few extra months will make certain that Uncharted 4: A Thief's End not only meets the team's high standards but the high standards that gamers have come to expect from a Naughty Dog title".

Franchise Herald calls the delay of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End caused by "Naughty Dog's Quest For High Standards of Gaming".  Bruce Straley and the creator of the game, Neil Druckmann, have also stated that "the more of the game and story have come together...it's become clear to us that this game is much more ambitious than we originally envisioned".

I'm sure a lot of fans of Uncharted are sad to see the delay, and I have to bear sadder news.  In case you have not heard, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will live up to its subtitle as it will be a thief's end.  This game will be the last in the series, with no intended sequel.

This does explain the delay, as Naughty Dog really wants to give the Uncharted series a decent send-off.  And one hopes that Naughty Dog will give fans something that they will really want.  There is also another development in the Uncharted franchise that is worth noting in 2016, as there are plans for a movie to be made.

According to Imdb, there are plans for an Uncharted movie to be released in 2016, and about all that is known is this plot summary:  "A descendant of explorer Sir Francis Drake, a treasure hunter named Nathan Drake believes he has learned the whereabouts of El Dorado, the fabled South American golden city, from a cursed golden statue. The search becomes competitive when a rival hunter joins the fray."

For those completely unfamiliar with the Uncharted video game franchise, they are third-person shooter platform action-adventure games made exclusively for the PlayStation.  The series includes Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Uncharted 3:  Drake's Deception, and the prequel Uncharted: Golden Abyss

Here is the storyline for the newest game:  Uncharted 4: A Thief's End takes place three years after Uncharted 3, and suddenly Sam, Nathan Drake's older brother who was thought to be dead, comes in.  Sam has his life hanging by a thread, and is looking to find some legendary pirate artifact.   This leads Drake and Sam to some mythical pirate colony in Madagascar known as Libertaria, and in conflict with two rivals named Rafe and Nadine who also want the artifact.

Look for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End sometime in 2016, perhaps around the holiday season.  If the game is good, and the possible movie adaptation done well, then honestly, then I would say that there is potential for this franchise to live again.
