The 2014 Veterans Day Parade in New York City or America's Parade, the largest in the country, will start at 11:25 a.m. ET on Tuesday, Nov. 11. The Parade's opening ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. ET at the Eternal Light Flagstaff monument, and the Mayor of New York City will make a remark, and conclude with a wreath laying at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. The Veterans Day Parade NYC 2014 live stream can be watched online beginning at noon at 3 p.m., and on television at FOX 5 (WNYW).

The theme for the 2014 Veterans Day Parade is "Land of the Free / Home of the Brave" in honor of the 200th Anniversary of the writing of the "Star-Spangled Banner," according to the event's website. The Parade honors all eras and branches of service, with the Marine Corps as this year's Featured Service Branch. In addition, the Parade is a Partner of the ongoing United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration.

America's Parade has a mission in raising awareness of the issues faced by Veterans, "especially our most recent generation of veterans of Iraq, Afghanistan, and other Post-9/11 operations," the organizers' website states.

"By telling their story on the nation's largest stage, the Parade reminds Americans everywhere of the service and sacrifice of those who have defended our freedoms, and mobilizes the public to support those organizations that are working tirelessly to serve their needs."

The parade, organized by United War Veterans Councils, will then take marchers from 26th Street to 52nd Street along Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. The organizers estimate that more than 600,000 spectators will show up on Tuesday, and millions more will be watching around the country on live streaming online feeds. In addition, a one-hour special will be shown on Sunday, Nov. 16.

This year's parade grand marshal is Ray Kelley, former NYPC commissioner and a Marine lieutenant during the Vietnam War.

The New York Veterans Day Parade has taken place since 1929, and more than 25,000 participants are expected to march in the nation's oldest and largest Veterans Day celebration. They include active military units from the United States armed forces, Medal of Honor recipients, veterans associations and high school marching bands from across the nation. Moreover, there will be floats, military and vintage vehicles, drill teams, and dancers.
