While rumors about LeBron James and "Space Jam 2" are still flying around, Brooklyn Nets' Jeremy Lin already starred in "Space Jam 3," sort of.

Teaming up with YouTube star Ryan Higa, also known by his followers as user nigahiga, Lin appeared in a short spoof of the 1996 film, which starred Michael Jackson, ESPN reported. However, in Higa's "Space Jam 3," instead of playing with the characters of "Looney Tunes," Lin played ball with anime characters such as Naruto, Goku, Sailor Moon and Yaami Yuugi.

The plot of "Space Jam 3" is pretty much similar to that of the original film. It starts with Lin holding a press conference to announce his retirement. According to the Nets star, he decided to retire to focus on playing video games and watching anime.

This then leads to the next scene showing Lin playing "Overwatch" while simultaneously watching a video of Naruto played by Higa. The character calls Lin's attention before sucking him into the screen.

The NBA star is then transported into the realm of the anime characters, who have a huge problem because they're about to face a more powerful basketball team.

The entire clip is filled with gags that poke fun at Lin's current status in the NBA. Some of the recurring jokes about the athlete are about his hairstyle, the fact that he's Asian and how he's nowhere near the status of Jordan and LeBron James.

Towards, the end of the clip though, Lin attempts to prove that he's a talented basketball player by trying to land the winning score. Using cartoon physics, Lin extends his arm as he attempts a jump. While still holding onto the ball, his arm extends out of the arena, climbs a tree, goes down a slide, knocks off other people's smartphones, plays "Pokémon Go" and goes back inside the arena. But, after all that, Lin misses, causing the anime characters' team to lose.

This is not the first time that Lin appeared in a hilarious YouTube video. As noted by CBS Sports, Lin enlisted the help of various superstars including Dwight Howard, DeAndre Jordan and Stephen Curry to make a video about how to fit in in the NBA.
