Usain Bolt defended his 200m title with ease and took his tally of World Championship gold medals to seven today.

The 26-year-old Jamaican sprinter set a world leading time of 19.66 seconds to secure his third successive world title in the event.

Indeed, the Olympic champion just regained his 100m world title in Moscow with 9.77 seconds last week.

"The 100m is for the fans, and for the show as the fastest man in the world, but for me it means more to come here and defend my 200 title," Bolt said.

Bolt's teammate Warren Weir wins 200m silver with a personal best 19.79 while Curtis Mitchell of the United States took bronze in 20.24 seconds.

This easy win, coupled with his leisurely stroll last weekend in the 100, gives him seven career gold medals at the worlds. He needs just one more to tie Carl Lewis and Michael Johnson for most among men. And Bolt will go for another in the 4x100 relay Sunday, the last day of competition.
