School's out and camping fun is here! Netflix has released the first full-length trailer of Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, a prequel to the 2001 cult classic that is scheduled for release on to on July 31st.

This means loyal fans of the Wet Hot Summer have less than a month to wait before they can view the popular show again.

The comedy series features some of the biggest stars in Hollywood, including Bradley Cooper, Amy Poehler, Molly Shannon, Christopher Meloni, Paul Rudd, Michael Ian Black, Janeane Garofalo, Elizabeth Banks, David Hyde Pierce and others. In trailer, a sullen teen Rudd, playing the role as Andy, made a dashing entrance on a motorcycle rocking a pair of jorts like a pro. But even sillier was Cooper as Ben and Black as McKinley both wearing one-shouldered leotards.

The next Wet Hot American Summer mini series will feature eight episodes, giving it a character of a long movie that is divided into mini sections, said Slash Gear. Wet Hot American Summer 2: First Day of Camp is based on the movie from 2001 by the same title which has earned a solid and dedicated fan base.

Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp is a 2015 satirical comedy television series written by David Wain and Michael Showalter, and directed by Wain.

Wain has suggested that there may be a prequel to Wet Hot American Summer. The film would be set earlier in that same summer, and part of the joke would be that the cast, who were ten years too old to be playing their parts, would now be playing younger versions of those same roles, but this time be twenty years too old. The film would star the same cast from the original. On February 23, 2012, Paul Rudd mentioned to Jon Stewart on The Daily Show that there were indeed talks about a possible prequel and that it was currently being written.

Wain has confirmed a sequel, with all of the original cast returning.

In May 2014, Variety reported that the prequel idea was to be turned into a ten-episode miniseries on Netflix, with Showalter and Wain serving as executive producers.

On January 9, 2015, Deadline.com reported that an eight-episode miniseries based on the film had begun shooting for release on Netflix. Almost the entire cast of the original film will be returning, along with Showalter and Wain. Several days later, the series' official Twitter account tweeted an image of the film's logo, with the words "First Day of Camp" written underneath it, implying that it will follow Wain's original plan for a prequel.
