It’s not easy to get a hold of the NES Classic Edition. It’s almost sold-out everywhere. With the Christmas season, it will be even harder. The new console is a popular Christmas gift for gamers. Some are offering it for a staggering amount. However, you might want to wait for the NES Classic to be available in major US retailers. You will be able to purchase them at a reasonable price.

Amazon just announced that limited NES Classic Edition consoles will be sold at the physical Amazon Books stores in Seattle, Portland and San Diego. In case you are not living in these areas, you still have a chance to buy one. The online retailer giant will eventually offer more of these consoles. Though they have not elaborated when exactly.

If you want a free NES Classic, Amazon will be giving away 20 consoles. You can win one by following the official Twitter account of Amazon Games. You also have to retweet their tweets regarding the said contest. You probably hurry up since this is only until Saturday.

Other than Amazon, Best Buy is your best bet to get a NES Classic Edition. Based on a leaked email advertisement, the console “will be available in all Best Buy stores tomorrow, Dec. 20.” Be sure to be there before the stock runs out.

For interested buyers in Australia, Vooks reported that Target will be selling the NES Classic Edition online on Dec. 12, 8am AEDT. Apparently, this information has already been confirmed. Customers are advised to create an online Target account on their site before Monday. It will be required once they purchase the console. Furthermore, Target also reminded that “the item is not secured until the payment is finalized”.

Back in Dec. 6, Urban Outfitters had offered the NES Classic Edition. Though this was known to those who have seen their hidden Twitter link, the console still was sold out. According to the Digital Trends, Toys R Us have received limited supply back in Dec. 4.

If you are not able to buy the console from the above-mentioned retailers or you are unwilling to wait, there is always eBay. That is if you want to spend $200 for the NES Classic. Sure, it has 30 classic games. However, you will not be able to add new games. Furthermore, you also have to deal with the short controller cord. The $60 retail price is more reasonable.
