There were a lot of wrestling fans that were wanting to play WWE 2K16 upon its initial release, and there is even more good news as more downloadable content is on the way. The Future Stars DLC has a definite release date, with the Hall of Fame Showcase to follow shortly. What is not known is that elusive release date for WWE 2K16 on the PC, making PC players wondering if it is every coming.
A recent report from Attack of the Fanboy has revealed the official release date for the Future Stars DLC. On January 26th, players can download their favorite NXT stars. The Future Stars pack includes Samoa Joe, as well as tag teams of Los Matadores (Diego and Fernando) as well as Blake and Murphy.
The Future Stars DLC pack costs $7.99, but it is free to subscribers who already paid $24.99 for the Season Pass. So far, this is the second to the last DLC pack to be released from 2K Games for WWE 2K16. The last DLC pack is the 2015 Hall of Fame Showcase, which currently has an unknown release date.
The 2015 Hall of Fame Showcase costs $9.99 and allows playable matches that include: "Macho Man" Randy Savage vs. Jake "The Snake" Roberts; Rikishi vs. The Rock; Alundra Blayze vs. Paige; Larry Zbyszko vs. Arn Anderson; Tatsumi Fujinami vs. Ric Flair; The Bushwhackers (Butch Miller and Luke Williams) vs. The Natural Disasters (Typhoon and Earthquake); The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) vs. Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray).
Other DLC packs that are readily available for purchase (or for free with the Season Pass) include the New Moves Pack, which costs $3.99. This gives the player access to 30 new movies, including the Corner Enzuigiri (made popular by WWE Diva Nikki Bella), Avalanche Ram (made popular by WWE Diva Paige), Sidewinder Suplex (made popular by WWE and NXT Superstar Kevin Owens), Standing Crossface Chickenwing (made popular by WWE Superstar Stardust) and Dragon Sleeper (made popular by NXT Superstar Finn Bálor).
The Legends Pack is available for $9.99, and allows the player to become WWE Legends like Big Boss Man, Dusty Rhodes, Lita, Mr. Perfect, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, and Trish Stratus. The WWE 2K16 Accelerator has also been released for $1.99, giving players instant access to all unlockable content available in the game, excluding the downloadable content.
So that is a lot of DLC content on platforms of the PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. However, this has left many players for the PC longing to purchase WWE 2K16 on their computer, and there still is no word from 2K Games of the release date. It feels quite late to the party, honestly, and it was predicted that it would come by the end of 2015. It looks like the earliest it could be out is some time in Q1 of 2016.
