Minecraft Story Mode Episode 5, 6, 7 and 8 Release Date With News and Rumors

Minecraft: Story Mode
Chapter 5 of Minecraft: Story Mode is coming March 29. Telltale Games

Minecraft is easily one of the biggest video game franchises ever, and the sandbox strategy game has branched out last year by working with Telltale Games to create an RPG version that takes place in the square world with Minecraft Story Mode.  Players were given many adventures with Episodes 1-4, and now there is a release date for Episode 5.  In addition to that, Telltale has confirmed that Episodes 6-8 are on the way, and here is the latest news and rumors.

According to CNET, Episode 5, ("Order Up") is coming soon.  This episode is meant to bridge the gap between the story arc that wrapped up with the Wither Storm arc as well as three "post-season" episodes 6, 7, and 8.  It was believed that Minecraft Story Mode would only have five episodes, but the "post-season" ones show that the game is a hit enough to merit sequels.

It looks like they managed to get the cast back together, as episodes 6, 7, and 8 will be the continuing Adventures of the New Order and follow the escapades of Jesse and the group as they explore new and unfamiliar worlds beyond their own, says Telltale in a news release.

As far as the cost of new episodes, you will need to own at least the first episode to have the ability to buy and play the post-season episodes.  From what it sounds like the Season Pass editions that have landed on consoles will only cover episodes 1-5, so players will have to shell out some more cash to get more episodes.  In fact, Engagdet has confirmed that these additional episodes won't be part of the season pass.

As for Episode 5, a lot of players have been wanting to see it as the world of Minecraft has a "significant shift", and here is a plot summary:  "On a tip from Ivor, Jesse and friends head to an abandoned temple holding mysterious treasures. Ambushed by former Ocelot Aiden and his crew, our heroes find themselves in an entirely new world: Sky City! As they explore, the Order finds that resources are at a premium, and nothing but 'The Void' exists below the known world. When Aiden convinces Sky City's ruler that the New Order of the Stone are up to no good, you'll need to make some tough choices to clear your name, and keep Aiden from destroying an innocent world."

Episode 5 of Minecraft Story Mode will launch on March 29, and it is pretty much available on every gaming platform available like Windows, Mac, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Wii U, iOS, and Android.  The exact release dates of episodes 6, 7, and 8 have not been revealed as yet, only sometime later this year.
