Global evangelist and motivational speaker Nick Vujicic's first biographical documentary, No Limbs, No Limits: The Nick V Story, is slated for release on September 25 this year.

The film features previously unreleased family footage and interviews with Vujicic's mother and siblings, tracing his life from a childhood deeply entrenched in depression to finding renewed hope through faith, ultimately becoming a world-touring speaker.

Vujicic was born in 1982 in Melbourne, Australia, to a Serbian Christian family; his father was a pastor. As the eldest son, he was born with tetra-amelia syndrome, a rare disorder characterized by the absence of all four limbs. This condition not only profoundly impacted his family but also challenged their nascent church community.

Despite immense challenges, Vujicic's parents responded with faith and actively supported his upbringing. After being denied admission to school five times, he eventually entered the mainstream education system thanks to his parents' persistence. However, bullying and exclusion at school subjected him to prolonged psychological distress. He candidly admits that his deepest childhood desire was to have arms and legs, but repeated unanswered prayers led him into despair. He even questioned the faith his father preached, stating, "I didn't want to hear my father say, 'God has a plan for everyone' – how could he say such a thing!"

In the documentary, Vujicic recalls attempting to end his life at the age of 10. He describes the experience of trying to find a foolproof method for suicide, even submerging his face in water, but his primal instinct ultimately made him desist: "I had an urge to throw myself down, so I looked down, trying to figure out from which angle I could fall to break my neck and successfully commit suicide... I submerged my face in the water, instinctively held my breath, and floated for a while. When the air in my lungs ran out, I resurfaced. I couldn't do it".

Upon learning of his suicidal thoughts, his father offered a deeply memorable response, telling him with warmth and conviction, "We will always be with you." This unwavering love became a crucial pillar for him to rediscover his faith later in life.

At 13, Vujicic re-engaged with the Christian faith, experienced a profound transformation, and found meaning and direction for his life. He gradually emerged from his struggles and eventually answered a calling to become an evangelist, sharing his testimony worldwide. Through over 3,000 speeches in 57 countries, approximately 150 million people have heard his inspiring message of hope and purpose.

In the film, Vujicic also candidly shares that even as a Christian, he still faces moments of discouragement and doubt, grappling with questions like "Should I continue to live?" "Does anyone truly love me?" and "What is the meaning of my life?" He notes that the thoughts of the human heart can sometimes deceive us, often indicating a spiritual battle.

To overcome depression, he offers five practical pieces of advice:

1.List ten things for which you are still grateful.
2.Recall the three hardest days of the past three years and ask yourself: "Could it be worse?"
3.Do not isolate yourself; talk to someone.
4.Help someone in need.
5.Return to God.

He emphasizes a biblical verse: "So for me, when I was in hell, Philippians 4:13 says, 'I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.' I knew my plans had failed, my strength was exhausted, and I had failed. My friends had also disappointed me; they let me down. My family also let me down. You know, everything failed. But God never let me down." He prayed to God, "God, I don't know what your plan is, but please help me trust you. I have no strength; please lift me up".

In an interview, Vujicic expressed that the documentary aims to convey two core messages: first, that God genuinely loves everyone and has a unique plan for each person; and second, that if God can use a man without limbs, He can use anyone willing to be used.

He further notes that people often long for miraculous physical changes – after all, God sometimes does bring about physical healing. He himself is no exception, even jokingly remarking, "I still keep a pair of shoes in my closet, just in case God gives me limbs." However, he also testifies, "Even without experiencing an external transformation, one can still become 'another kind of miracle.' 'No limits' precisely refers to God's work being 'unlimited' when a person entrusts their brokenness to Him".
