A powerful spiritual revival is sweeping through Malaysia, drawing more than 8,000 attendees to the 2026 Kuala Lumpur Fire Conference (2026吉隆坡烈火特會) held from March 23 to 25. Across ten sessions over three days, participants gathered in prayer and worship, seeking personal, ecclesiastical, and national renewal.
Photos and videos shared on the conference’s official Facebook page showed thousands raising their hands in worship, many visibly moved to tears. Scenes of intense prayer included individuals kneeling, lying prostrate, or crying out in spiritual fervor.

Igniting a New Generation
Attendee Andrew Ng testified to a profound inner transformation during the event. “Over these days, God was not merely inspiring me—He was dismantling the false strength and superficial spirituality within me,” he shared. Ng described confronting his own reluctance to endure hardship, his desire for recognition, and his tendency to serve only when results seemed assured. The conference, he said, led him to commit to a life of sustained sacrifice and burning dedication, beyond momentary emotional highs.
In a message posted online, speaker Pastor Goh Cheng Kooi (吳清貴牧師) declared that God was initiating a significant new work in Kuala Lumpur. He emphasized that the spiritual fervor witnessed was not meant only for individuals or congregations, but to ignite an entire generation.
“We are at a critical moment—not just praying for personal revival, but for a whole generation to be filled with God,” Pastor Goh said. He urged Malaysian believers to “carry this revival fire courageously, allowing it to spread from our gatherings to our cities and ultimately transform our nation. Let this become not a passing emotion, but a lasting spiritual authority passed down through generations.”
Music as Ministry: A Flutist’s Mission
Guest speaker Solnamoo Song (宋松樹), a Juilliard-trained flutist, shared his journey from the concert stage to conflict zones and refugee camps in Syria and Iraq. For Song, music has become an instrument of service rather than a pursuit of acclaim.
“I realized music should not seek applause, but proclaim peace in places of despair,” he explained. Playing amid rubble and in tents, his flute has served as a channel of divine comfort to displaced and forgotten communities. “I would rather play where hope is most needed than in the most elegant concert halls,” Song added.

Growing Momentum
The Malaysia Fire Conference was first launched in 2019 by Pastor Zhang Mao Song (張茂松牧師) of Taiwan’s Top Church (台灣行道會), with the vision of bringing spiritual revival to the country. It has since grown into a major interdenominational gathering for Chinese-speaking Christians in Malaysia, fueling revival through worship and preaching.
Attendance has risen steadily each year, with the 2024 Kuala Lumpur event drawing over 3,700 participants. This year’s conference filled both the Mega Star Arena and DUMC Church (百樂鎮衛理公會) to capacity, with estimates exceeding 8,000 attendees.
The next Fire Conference is scheduled for May 28–31 at the Glory Christian Centre in Kota Kinabalu, East Malaysia.
