Jailbreaking, the negating the manufacturer's predetermined settings of the smartphone or tablet to gain more control over a device, is the way to remove Apple's restriction, so iPhone and iPad users can enjoy access to the iOS file system and manager for downloading applications not available on the App Store.  It has been a while since there has been a jailbreaking breakthrough, which probably means that the iOS 10 announced at Apple's own World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2016 will not be jailbroken anytime soon.

According to Gotta Be Mobile, the last two months has seen the update of iOS 9.3.1, followed by iOS 9.3.2.  The last time that we reported on jailbreaking, just one week ago, apparently the limit was iOS 9.1, and it is not advised that you download any iOS higher than that if you want to jailbreak your iDevice.  While I am making disclaimers, I might as well get the usual disclaimer of how you should jailbreak your iDevice unless you have the technical know-how or you know what you are doing.

There is apparently a report from the Pangu team (a well-known jailbreaking organization) saying that invitations to a special event happening on July 1st that could possibly be related to the iOS 9.3.2 jailbreak and iOS 9.3.3 jailbreak.

This is also a time to mention that there is some video of a jailbreak of iOS 9.3.2, done by that Italian developer Luca Todesco.  This person has made many claims about jailbreaking versions of iOS before, and never shares the discoveries.

Of course, there is a big push to get the latest versions of iOS jailbroken as WWDC just announced the existence of iOS 10.  It is due out in the fall, with a public beta dropping in July.  It will be very difficult to jailbreak that, as it is new, and Apple is really been working hard to keep any vulnerabilities from being exploited to jailbreaking programmers.

In the meantime, WWDC 2016 outlined many terrific features for iOS 10, which include a Siri SDK, which will allow developers to incorporate Siri into their applications.  Speaking of a new platform, this is what happens with iMessage, with a lot of new features.

Wired also reports that the Apple Music service will be getting a makeover, and there is also word of more responsive notifications as well as better management of Photos.   One thing that travelers will love is that OpenTable, Maps, and other programs have been improved for reservations and rides.  Apple News will also be getting a new sorting method and the Phone app is going to get some VoIP API.
