Those that caught Super Bowl 50 last Sunday were very impressed not only by the game and the multi-million dollar commercials, but CBS promo of the 2016 Grammy Awards set for next week. The performance lineup features some very big names, with the tagline of "and that's just the first hour". The list of performers at the Grammys is constantly in a state of flux. In fact, Billboard has only recently reported that Taylor Swift has been added to the 2016 Grammys Performance Lineup. Considering that she has seven nominations, which is the second biggest amount of nominations (tied along with the Weeknd, with Kendrick Lamar leading nominations at 11).
The Grammy News website recently reported that the current nominees Justin Bieber, Diplo, and Skrillex will perform their Grammy-nominated hit "Where Are U Now". Another performance will be from Album of the Year nominee Chris Stapleton, who will be joined by Grammy winners Gary Clark Jr. and Bonnie Raitt to pay tribute to the legendary B.B. King. Speaking of tributes, Lady Gaga, who is nominated for Best Song with "Til It Happens to You" is reported to perform a seven-minute tribute to David Bowie, who passed away at the beginning of 2016.
As far as the performers are concerned, there are many, including Adele. Her 25 was not eligible for this year's awards, but the 10-time Grammy winner is expected to be performing, "When We Were Young", according to Us Weekly. Rihanna, who just released her eighth studio album Anti, will also perform.
Also up is a rock supergroup known as the Hollywood Vampires consisting of Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp, and Joe Perry, making their television debut. Also, the nominee Pitball will be teaming up with Travis Barker, Robin Thicke, and other surprise guests. Other performers include James Bay, Kendrick Lamar, Andra Day, Ellie Goulding, Sam Hunt, Tori Kelly, Little Big Town, Carrie Underwood, and the Broadway cast from Hamilton.
The 58th Grammys will air on Monday, February 15th, 2016 at 8 ET, 7 CT, or 5 PT on CBS. It will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and be hosted by two-time Grammy winner LL Cool J for the fifth consecutive year. The Awards are produced by AEG Ehrlich Ventures for The Recording Academy. Ken Ehrlich is executive producer, Louis J. Horvitz is director, and David Wild and Ehrlich are the writers.
