New rumors are suggesting that the Phoenix Suns and the Philadelphia 76ers might engage in a trade involving Eric Bledsoe. However, it is not yet clear who Philadelphia will send to Phoenix as part of the trade.
In terms of the upcoming NBA draft event, the 76ers have the biggest advantage since they are currently sitting at the No. 1 spot. Many sources are expecting that the team will use its position to get either Brandon Ingram or Ben Simmons.
But, in a surprising move earlier this month, Marc Eversely, the team's vice president of player personnel, hinted that the 76ers are eyeing Jamal Murray.
"Jamal Murray, we certainly got a chance to see him a couple of weeks ago," he said according to Philly.com. "He's certainly going to be one of those kids who's going to be in contention for the No. 1 pick."
"We like him a lot," he added. "He's going to bring a lot to wherever he goes in the NBA, certainly a talent."
Eversely's statements, however, were not take seriously by most fans and analysts as they believe this is just a move by the team to invite a potential trade for anyone who's willing to give up their star players in exchange for the No. 1 pick.
And, since the 76ers are in need of a reliable point guard, they may have set their sights on Bledsoe, who averaged 20 points per game during the 2015 season, according to Yibada.
But then again, this is just based on a rumor and is no way an indication that the Philadelphia will trade with the Phoenix for Bledsoe in exchange for the No. 1. The 76ers could go for another player fro a different team or just stick with their draft pick. Also, as of the moment, Bledsoe is a risky trade.
NBA fans might remember that he was not able to finish the 2015 to 2016 season after he underwent surgery in December last year. The procedure was done to repair the torn meniscus in his left knee. With him on the bench, the Suns struggled to keep up in the rest of the season.
