The Ducks returned from a 0 -2-1 skid after making a 18-1-1 stretch. However, the team is still lagging behind the surging Los Angeles Kings, which is the current leader in the Pacific Division.

Aneheim's Jakob Silfverberg had a big-time play on Sunday. He helped the Ducks to defeat Winnipeg Jets in overtime, with a final score of 3-2.  The Ducks also avoided a third straight road loss. They are now 13-3-2 in their last 18 games away from home.

Meanwhile, LA Times reported the Ducks would miss the services of left wing David Perron for their upcoming game against Canadiens. The player is considered week-to-week due to a shoulder injury. The team announced on Monday that Perron is scheduled for MRI to check condition of his injury.

During the second half of their game against the Jets, Perron attempted to check Mark Scheifele but crashed into the boards. He left the game after the incident and did not return.

For the Canadiens, they lost to the Flames on Sunday with a final score of 4-1. Montreal allowed 10 straight goals before rookie Michael McCarron's first career tally in the third period. The game against Calgary is the team's third consecutive home loss.

The Canadiens is missing the services of their injured star Carey Price, who may not play for the rest of the season. For his replacement, rookie Mike Condon is taking charge.

However, Condon seems to be overwhelmed for his new role in the team. He is in the bottom of statistics in terms of save percentage, only having .904 percent.

In the last meeting of the Ducks and the Canadiens on March 2, the Ducks emerged victorious with a final score of 3-2.  Jamie McGinn scored in that game, his first with Anaheim after being acquired from Buffalo earlier this year. He made five goals in 10 games with the Ducks.

If the Ducks would win again against the Canadiens on Tuesday, they can earn their tickets for the upcoming playoffs.
