If you are the owner of an Android device that runs 4.4.4 KitKat, then  you are anxiously awaiting the rollout of the new version of Android 5.0 Lollipop.  Android rollouts tend to be slow, especially for owners of older Android phones who might not ever receive them.  When Lollipop was first announced, it was not very specific about what devices would be getting it first.  Fortunately, you are in luck if you own the HTC M8, the HTC M7, the LG G3, or the Sony Xperia.

Those who have purchased Android phones with the Google Play Edition (GPE) are the ones most in luck.  For example, owners of the HTC One M7 and M8, who have a "purer" version of Android without HTC Sense customization, should be able to get Lollipop on your GPE devices this week, assuming it isn't available as you are reading this.  This update has been confirmed with a tweet from HTC's US Vice President of product management, Mo Versi.  At least Versi has stated that the target date is next week.

Also, if you are a G3 owner, the Lollipop fix should be available sometime between late November and early December.  There has been reports that some countries like Poland and Belgium have been getting Lollipop on their G3 phones already.

Sony has already stated that they intend to bring Android 5.0 to the entire Xperia Z series, with the Sony Z Ultra Google Play edition first in line.  As for the update to its main line of devices, with the manufacturer says they will "start the upgrade at the beginning of 2014 for the core Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z2 series - conintuing thereafter for all remaining devices".

Android L is going to be out of the box for two Nexus devices, the HTC Nexus 9 as well as Motorola's Nexus 6.  More of the Nexus series, including the Nexus 5, Nexus 4, Nexus 10, and Nexus 7 will receive this update, but the date is not quite known. As for Samsung Galaxy phones like the Note and S series, the rumor is that could show up as early as December or as late as sometime in January.  Motorola plans to get updates on Moto X, Moto G, and Moto E.  For Huawei, it is probably due out soon for the Ascend P6 and G6 and Asus ZenFone probably later in 2015.
