It seems that any Android above 5.0 is having the worst time rolling out to even the newest of Android devices. This also applies to Samsung devices like the Galaxy S5, S6, Note 4, Note Edge, and other devices waiting for have that Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Update Release Dates for carriers like Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, and AT&T.
The HTC One M9 and HTC One M8
According to International Business Times, HTC One M9 users on carriers like Sprint, AT&T, and T-Mobile should have received the Android 5.1 Lollipop last month, and so far, only Verizon is falling behind. So far, HTC has been pretty silent about the release of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop updates on the HTC One M9, the HTC One M8, and the HTC One M7.
It is entirely possible that the HTC One M9 and M8 could skip Android 5.1.1 and go straight to Android M. Mo Versi, the vice president for product management at HTC as well as unofficial breaker of Android update news, has stated that Android M will be coming to the HTC One M8. In other words, it could take a while before it gets here, just like it did last March when most of the carriers including Sprint, Verizon, and AT&T received Android 5.0.
