With the slow rollout of Android 5.0, it seems like the new difficulty is getting Android 5.1 or even 5.1.1.  This is the update on what it looks like for the latest version of Android on Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, S6 Edge, Note 4, S6, S5, S4 for U.S. Carriers Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, and T-Mobile.

A recent report from Android Geeks states that the Android 5.1 Lollipop update for the Samsung Galaxy S5, the Galaxy S6, the S6 Edge, the Galaxy Note 4, and the Note Edge will be rolling out in stages.  It will take a while before this new firmware will be available to all users, and the ETA varies with the phone model, region, as well as the carrier.

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge

The International Business Times reports that Sprint has released the Android 5.1 Lollipop for the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge handset, making it the first carrier in the United States to release this version of Android to Note Edge users, as well as for users of the Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4

The good news for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 users is that Android 5.1.1 is available, if you live in Russia, according to The Inquirer.  Yes, that is not good news for Note 4 users in the United States, but this is a hopeful sign that Android 5.1.1 is on its way to users in the United States.  Why not?

Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge

According to Know Your Mobile, Samsung Galaxy S6 users are now receiving an Android 5.1.1 update in France, and there are reports that the Galaxy S6 EDGE being updated all across Europe, which includes users in the United Kingdom.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4

Sam Mobile reports that Samsung is already testing beta versions of Android 5.1.1 based ROMs for various existing devices, If you are an owner of the Galaxy Note 4, then you should have the Android 5.1.1 update by the end of July.  Granted, the Galaxy Note 5 will probably take its place pretty soon.

Samsung Galaxy S5

For the Galaxy S5, a recent report from the International Business Times has stated that users of last year's flagship phone from Samsung are still awaiting their Android 5.1.1 update.  The issue is that version 5.0 was causing issues like battery draining problems, frequent crashes, as well as other bugs.

AT&T was the first to roll out Android 5.0 for Galaxy S5 users, but there is still no word on 5.1.1.  the same can be said of Verizon, as well as Sprint.  Only enough, T-Mobile was the one that got Android 5.1.1 to Galaxy S5 devices at the end of June.

Samsung Galaxy S4

As for the Samsung Galaxy S4, a separate article from Sam Mobile reveals that the S4 Google Play edition will get Android 5.1.  That sounds well-and-good for them, but what about for non Google Play edition owners.  There are reports that Google and Samsung haven't forgotten about the S4, and will bring it up to the latest version of Android at some point.

Considering that the Galaxy S4 is version of Samsung's flagship phone from two years ago, it was good that it even got the update to Android 5.0 on Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, but not on T-Mobile, according to Android Pit.  There is no word on when the S4 will be getting its update, though.

Of course, a lot of this will probably made obsolete as Android M will soon be rolling out, and this version of Android will be set up for the newest Android phones in Fall 2015 and Winter 2016, but will slowly roll out to the previous Samsung phones.
