Still has not received the Lollipop update yet?

Good news for those waiting on the Android L (also known as Android 5.0 or Lollipop) for the HTC One series.  The HTC One M7 and the HTC One M8 for AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile should have their Lollipop update, with only Verizon subscribers lagging.  There is also news on the Android L 5.0 update for the Moto G and the Moto X.

According to PhoneArena, AT&T rolled out their Lollipop update for the HTC One M7 about one week ago.  I can only assume that everything has gone according to plan, as AT&T has also stated that the Lollipop update for the HTC One M8 is apparently happening on 10:00 AM Pacific time on Tuesday.

CNET confirmed that the update is available thanks to a tweet from HTC vice president of product management Mo Versi.  The tweet read:  "AT&T HTC One (M8) Owners!  We just receive technical approval for Lollipop OS!  Thank you for all your patience, OTA (over the air) to start tomorrow". This means that if you don't have the HTC One M7 or M8 on AT&T right now, then you should be able to check for updates to make certain it is available.

So, what if you have an HTC One M8 with another carrier, like Sprint, T-Mobile, or Verizon?  I have heard that T-Mobile is already out now, as is Sprint.  This update for those two carriers happened about a month ago, but Verizon should be in early March, according to CNET.

According to Android Pit, the Lollipop update for the HTC One M7 is also not out for the Verizon version.  The T-Mobile and Sprint versions of the HTC One M7 should have it, so check on it if you are one of their users.

The Lollipop update has come up short for several phones, such as the Moto X.  The International Business Times states that Luciano Carvalho, a software engineer at Motorola says that a bug-free version of Android 5.1 Lollipop update will come to the Moto X.  Tech Times reports that for the first generation of the Moto X will have a "soak test" for their device, which means that it tests out the impending software updates prior to the official release or announcement.   This allows members of the Motorola Feedback Network to test it out before it hits carriers for the final release.

A recent report by the Latin Post has stated that the second generation Moto X already has a slightly more updated Lollipop Android 5.0.2 on AT&T.  Android Pit reports that there is an option for second generation Moto X users if you are willing to use XDA Developers and OTA files for Android 5.1 and a pure Moto X that is unrooted.  Granted, these types of downloads can be risky for those who are not "in the know" technically, so use this at your own risk.

As for the popular Moto G (second generation), Motorola states in its customer help that it is already available, but this might not be the case.  However, Know Your Mobile reports the Moto G 2014 getting an update to Lollipop in the UK, so it might not be long before it comes to the United States.
