Right now, there is a lot of pressure for Android smartphone and tablet manufacturers to upgrade their products to the latest version of Android, version 6.0 (also known as Android M or Marshmallow).   So far, LG is probably one of the best companies to be bringing Android M to their users, and this is what is currently known about the Android M Version 6.0 Marshmallow Release Date for LG G4, G3, and G Stylo on United States carriers such as Verizon, T-Mobile, US Cellular, AT&T, and Sprint.

According to Expert Reviews, the LG G4 is essentially the first device to receive Android M, besides the new ones in Google's Nexus series, and it is rolling out across Europe as a 1.55 GB download.  This makes a lot of sense, as when Android M first started rolling out, LG put out a press release saying that they would be the first to receive Android 6.0 on their devices.  Yes, Google got it first, but LG was informing its users that they were actively trying to get Marshmallow to their devices first, and it looks like they are succeeding.

A recent report from Greenbot has stated that the LG G3, the flagship phone of 2014, is receiving an over-the-air update from Verizon, and this is based on testimony from Reddit.  Just because it has come to Verizon does not mean that the Android upgrade has come to all other carriers such as US Cellular, Sprint, T-Mobile, and AT&T.  After all, Android upgrades can often vary from carrier to carrier, but it is always a good sign when it comes to one, as all the other carriers get it sooner or later.  It is interesting that the G3, which is two years old, received it before the G4.

There is also a report the LG G Stylo, a Galaxy Note contender, has received its Marshmallow update rather recently.

In other words, it looks like LG is quite well on track at getting Android 6.0 to its customers.  This is quite good, and LG has a good reason to be in a hurry.  There are reports from Tech Advisor saying that Mobile World Congress, and annual event held in Barcelona, Spain, will serve as the stage where LG will announce their next smartphone, the LG G5.  This event will take place on February 22-25, but new smartphones are expected to be unveiled before it, as Samsung is expected to announce their S7 and HTC their One M10.  This is assuming that these smartphones will follow the naming conventions of their predecessors, but it looks like the LG G5 will have Marshmallow right out of the box.
