Calling Samsung Galaxy users out there! Samsung Inc. has finally released Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow (Android M) update in Korea for Galaxy S6 and S6 edge. Once the update rolls out in the United States, gadget lovers can expect innovative apps and awesome features from the latest firmware.
Version 6.0.1 of Android is now available for the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge owners in South Korea. After these developments, tech experts said Android M shouldn't take too long to arrive at Galaxy S6 edge+ and the Galaxy Note 5.
The Android M 6.0.1 beta test is also available for Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge users from Germany. The beta test gives users an opportunity to check the compatibility of Marshmallow firmware in their devices. For interested users who want to upgrade their gadgets, just go to Settings> About device > Software update.
Other Samsung gadgets are also scheduled to receive the update. Owners of Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge will have the new OS next month, according to Pocket-Lint. Moreover, the second phase of upgrade includes Samsung Galaxy A5, Samsung Galaxy A3, Samsung Galaxy E7, Samsung Galaxy A7 and Samsung Galaxy E5.
Take note that when phone manufacturers update their devices to the latest Android, they often start with their latest gadgets. After that, the update will slowly roll down to older phone models. In the case of Samsung, Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge + are their latest devices. Of course, the S6 is company's flagship device, so it makes that sense they will receive the Android M update first.
For Samsung subscribers under T-mobile, the carrier already published a list of devices that will receive the Marshmallow update. The eligible devices include the Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy S6 edge+ and Galaxy Tab S2.
Remember that when Android OS update arrives, mobile carriers such as AT&T, Sprint, US Cellular, or Verizon could hinder it. The launching of Marshmallow firmware on these American subscription services vary from each other.
As for the features of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, there are tons of upgrades, such as new set of emoji characters, new interface for the Edge screen settings and a new Tasks Edge panel to set shortcuts for apps.
