Android Nougat
Latest on Android Nougat roll out. It gets rather tricky figuring out just which particular smartphone model will be on the receiving end of the latest Android operating system version.

Good news for Android users out there. Google may release the Android 7.0 Nougat on August 5. The new firmware is expected to feature revamped user interface, innovative applications and updated security system. Here's the latest news about Android N release date for LG, HTC and Samsung devices.

Well-known blogger Evan Blass claims Android 7.0 will become available on Friday, August 5. The operating system is rumored to have "8/5 security patch." If Blass' prediction is correct, this year's launching of new Android OS would be early. In the previous years, Google launched a new version of Android around October or November.

However, an August release does not mean users would be able to install the Nougat immediately. After Google releases a new version of Android, mobile carriers and phone makers must test it on every device to check the system's performance. That means Android phone users have to wait for several months to get the latest firmware.

Google usually rolls out a new flavor of Android to its own Nexus gadgets. After that Samsung, HTC and other leading phone makers will receive the update.

HTC's 5-inch Nexus smartphone, S1 (Sailfish), is expected to become available with the latest Android Nougat right out the box. According to Tech Radar, HTC-Nexus S1 will be launched on September 2016.

For LG fans, CNET reports the successor of V10 smartphone will also become available in September with pre-installed Android Nougat. Check out our previous report to know the specs and features of LG V20 smartphone.

Samsung is not known for releasing new Android software immediately. The South Korean phone maker took five months to roll out the Android Marshmallow to its subscribers. Therefore, even if Google releases the Nougat this month, it is highly likely Samsung users will get the system in early 2017.

As always, the latest devices of Samsung will get the Android Nougat first. Owners of recently released Galaxy Note 7 would receive the update first, followed by the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. After that, Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 variants will get the update.

Android 7.0 Nougat will introduce the split-screen mode, which allows users to open two apps simultaneously. The firmware will also bring bundled notifications feature, enhanced Doze mode and support for Daydream. The latter is Google's new virtual reality platform.
