With spring in the air, that means that Google I/O Developer's conference is just around the corner, which usually means that the newest version of Android will be announced. That would be Android N, but Android M (also known as version 6.0 or Marshmallow) is starting to come to Samsung devices, and a preview of Android N could be coming as well. Here is the latest news about Android M 6.0 Upgrade Release Date for Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge+, Note 5, Note 4, Note Edge, and S5 on Verizon, US Cellular, T-Mobile, AT&T, and Sprint.
It should come as no surprise that the newest Samsung flagship, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, are getting launched with Marshmallow pre-installed. This would lead to the Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge receiving the upgrade to Android M, and it already has it on T-Mobile and Sprint. Some reports are coming in saying that Verizon and AT&T are getting the upgrade for those models of devices, as well as US Cellular. Since Android smartphones often get their upgrades at different times, depending on their carrier, users of the S6 and S6 Edge should check their devices now to see if it has arrived.
Gotta Be Mobile has reported that the Samsung Galaxy S5 Android 6.0.1 update is starting to roll out as of yesterday, in both Korea and the United States. In fact, it has been confirmed in Korea with a few carriers there, but details are pretty sketchy when it comes to the United States carriers. Again, users of the Galaxy S5 should check their "Settings" and "System Update" to see if it is available now, as it might just be.
The next on the list is the Galaxy Note 5 as well as the Galaxy S6 Edge +, and Tech Radar reports that they would be next to get the upgrade. It also reports that there isn't really any official word if the Galaxy S4, Galaxy Alpha, and Galaxy Note 3 will be receiving this update. The same goes for tablets such as the Galaxy Tab S2, the Galaxy Tab S, and the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2.
Not only is there news about Android M showing up on Samsung devices, but Nashville Chatter Class has given news about a preview version of Android N showing up. You heard that right, as the same preview of Android N to users of the latest Nexus devices is going to show up on specific Samsung devices. However, the details are sketchy on when the preview will show up, but it has been said that the Galaxy Note 6 will have Android N right out of the box.
