Before Google reveal the full name of Android N, let's check out its difference to the current Android Marshmallow. So far, Google made over 40 improvements on its Android system, and most of the changes are aimed for performance. Here's the latest update about changes between Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and Android N Developer preview 3.

For its features, Medium reported Android N offers multi-window support to different devices. This feature allows users to run two apps on the screen simultaneously. Spilt-screen viewing of apps is a big help for users who want to increase their productivity. In addition, users can drag texts between apps in Multi-Window mode. For example, it is now possible to drag text from a notepad to an email.
The Setting menu in Android N is smarter than the Android Marshmallow. The operating system provides more relevant information so users don't have to check each option. Instead of just basic info, users can now instantly see which WiFi network they are connected to, how much data has been used, how many apps are installed and more. The new Settings menu is very detailed than the Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Furthermore, notifications in Android N are easier to manage. For users who regularly receive many notifications from different apps, Google's upcoming firmware has a solution. The notifications can now be bundled together, and users just have to press the bundles to check each alert.
BGR reported Google is set to roll out the fully functional Android N at some point this summer.
The Mountain View-based tech company posted on Twitter that the firmware's full name will be revealed very soon. As seen in the video below, the company closed the Android N naming portal, hinting the announcement might happen in the next few weeks.

The current Android 6.0 Marshmallow was released in October last year. As of now, it is still slowly rolling out to different smartphones and tablets across the globe. It introduced several features and functional applications like Now On Tap, battery-saving Doze and Android Pay.
