Rovio Entertainment unveils Lego Angry Birds mini figures playset Official Twitter page

The Angry Birds Movie is due for release in summer of 2016, but Rovio has provided fans of the hugely popular mobile video app game a preview of Lego's Angry Birds mini figures.

In its latest tweet, Rovio Entertainment has revealed more details about the Lego toys for their upcoming Angry Birds Movie. The picture was captioned, "First look at the @LEGO_Group version of a Piggy from the #AngryBirdsMovie! Coming 2016."

Rovio also revealed that the Lego Angry Birds mini figures will be hit the shelves in 2016. However, it was noted that Rovio described the mini figures as "playsets" and not the usual "set" to describe a Lego toy.

The description could probably hint that the Angry Bird Lego toys will come with more actions, insiders speculate.

A report by Forbes said, "Although unlikely it could even mean that the Lego Angry Birds will be seen in a video game crossover product like Lego Dimensions. Previous franchises were thought unlikely, like Portal and Doctor Who, but then appeared in the new toys-to-life game."

Last month, Rovio released a new trailer for The Angry Birds Movie has recently been released, and soon players of the popular mobile game will get to see their favorite birds leap from the small screen to the big screen. Angry Birds was quite a popular game a few years ago, and it has spawned a lot of sequels as well as merchandise, but success can only last so long. Will the film bring some new life to Angry Birds creator Rovio? This is the latest Angry Birds Movie Release Date and News.

According to The Verge, the Angry Birds movie is a pretty big risk for Rovio, as it was revealed in March 2015 that the company's profits had fallen 73 percent in 2014. It was in October 2014 when Rovio announced that it would lay off up to 130 employees. Considering that Angry Birds 2 was just released, there must still be people on their smartphones or tablets shooting birds on a slingshot.

The trailer for the film attempts to show that the game is going to have some depth of character to it. It begins with the Red bird, the one that players start out with in the game. It appears that he is going to some anger management group or something, and there is a scene in the trailer where it seems his rage is going to boil to the surface.

The Angry Birds Movie is a movie based on the Angry Birds series of video games and is scheduled for release in theaters May 20, 2016. It will be computer-animated and will be released in 3D. John Cohen will be the producer while David Maisel will be the executive producer.
